How to setup compression rate

We are using 3583 tape library with Ultrium 3 tape drives and LTO3 tapes. But when the tapes are full, the estimated capacity is only 433GB. Is it supposed to be 800GB? How to check compression rate?

The 800GB compressed rate is only maximum amount of data on the tape if all data could compress to it perfectly.
