Hello,

I have a site that wants to install 4 local 1FB trunks on their SG90 primarily for 911 access. They would also like to have them as a backup trunk group in case the WAN connection goes down. They currently have centralized trunking from the HQ site. They use access code 9 to dial out.

I built the trunk group in the site, but I am not sure how to setup the 911 calls to go out that trunk group instead of the HQ trunks. Lines are not in yet, but I would like to have everything ready beforehand.

Follow these instructions:

SCENARIO:
Customer has a HQ site with a PRI switch and a remote site with a ShoreGear switch configured with an Analog Loop Start Trunk Group and Trunks. The remote site can have a DVM server or can be a remote site with just a ShoreGear switches configured with IP Phones and Analog lines.

OBJECTIVE:
Customer would like for:
1. 911 calls to go out the Analog lines.
2. Any combination of Local, long Distance, International calls to go out the
HQ PRI site.
3. If there is a HQ outage and non-911calls at the remote site cannot be sent out the HQ PRI, then 911 and non-911 calls at the remote site should go out the remote site ShoreGear switch Analog Loop Start trunks.

CONFIGURATION:
1. Remote Site: “Use Parent As Proxy” option NOT CHECKED
2. Set the Remote Site Analog Loop Start trunk group dial plan custom setting
to “ <911>X.%4G “
3. Set the HQ PRI Trunk Group custom dial plan to “;-25”.
4. Restart the TmsNcc service on the Remote Site if DVM server is present
and HQ server.
Note: This dial plan can be applied to multiple remote

Thanks for the info. I had found a KB article as well on this. THey said the <911>X.%4G may not work on later releases. We are on 10.2. Have you seen an issue with this? THe article said to just put ;25M in the custom rules.

That is what I did to test. It works, but I have to uncheck the local call services option from the trunk group or all of the calls will try and go out those trunks. I forgot to mention that right now we are still deploying this system and all of the centralized trunking is in our old Nortel box. We have 2 QSIG T1 ties between the Nortel and the Shoretel. So the inbound and outbound traffic from the PSTN is going over that QSIG Tie right now for non emergency calls.

DO I need to enter something else to get it to where I can leave the local option checked under the analog trunks since I want to use them in the event of a WAN failure. Also, what does the parent as proxy check box affect when it is selected.

OK, here is what I had to do in order to get this to work. This was with Shoretel on the phone trying stuff out with me until we go it to work. Like GSmitherman said, you have to uncheck use parent as proxy then enter these strings in the custom field for the local analog trunk group.
