I have a Mitel 3300 system. I have a department that wants to setup a new number to ring on three phones. They must go from one phone to the next and then to the third phone. After the third phone and no one answers it must go to voice mail. I do not have a license for a ACD setup.

How do I set this up. I tried setting up a new number with no device attached. I then setup a Ring Group with the cascade feature I then setup the number in Nupoint to have a voice mail. I tested everything on my phone. It rings on line two not on the button I setup. I guess the button is setup wrong. It then goes to the second number and third. It does not go to voice mail.

How do I set this up properly?
Ring to the proper button
Ring in a cascade function
Finally going to voice mail

Thanks

Depends on the software level but set up a ring group with the three DN's of the real phones. Give it a number which will be its pilot number and the one that will be used to call the group. Use either circular or terminal cascade ring and make the overflow your voice mail box of preference.

The phones will ring on their prime lines NOT on a separate button

It is VERY important that we know your software level.

Wiremans solution is workable although I would do it differently. Critically though, Ring Groups do not integrate well with voicemail prior to release 7.0

This solution will (should?) work for systems 5.0 and above

inbound number terminates to XXXX
XXXX = IP set with trusted service level
XXXX call rerouting is set to route to 10*XXXX in Day (N1 and N2 optionally can be set to VM)
XXXX 1st alternative is set to go to VM
XXXX COS Call Fwd No answer timer is set to a value to allow sufficient time for all phones to ring
10*XXXX is Ring Group Pilot set to terminal cascade ring, overflow set to max
Members
11*XXXX Key line programmed on Phone 1
12*XXXX Key line programmed on Phone 2
13*XXXX Key line programmed on Phone 3
Mailbox XXXX integrates with Pilot number
Each phone can have a message waiting indicator associated with XXXX

Another solution that would work just as well and possibly not as complicated (again 5.0 and above)

XXXX = IP set trusted AND Multicall Key on 1st phone
1*XXXX = IP set trusted AND Multicall Key on 2nd phone
2*XXXX = IP set trusted AND Multicall Key on 3rd phone

Use the call forward Profile form to set call forwarding on no answer / busy for each to the next step

MB = XXXX and Lamps associated with XXXX

Thanks for your input. But I did not quite understand your third option which seems the easiest for me to follow.

We are using release 5.0

I was able to go into my Phantom buttons and set up a multicall button for a trusted DN.
IE: multicall button 7788
I then took the DN number coming into the building and sent it to the multicall button number.
IE: 5089898 (speed call number) 7788 (multicall number)

I am now getting confused. I went to the first phone IE: 3334 and place one of its buttons to be
Multicall Button directory number 7788 with ring

I am getting confused on setting up the three phones and forwarding and making sure they ring separately and also go to voice mail.

I am sorry that I am confused

So what I see is that you have set up the first step of 3 phones

Review of what you've done:
5089898 SC terminates to 7788
7788 is trusted device
7788 is multicall on ext 3334
I am assuming that this works to ring the first hop

Note
Ext 7778 needs a COS that has option Call Fwd No Answer timer set to around 10 seconds

Next Steps
Create trusted device 1*7788 with same COS as 7788
Put 1*7788 as multicall on 2nd phone

Create trusted device 2*7788 with same COS as 7788
Put 2*7788 as multicall on 3nd phone

Using the Form Call Forward Profiles
Forward 7788 to 1*7788 on 4 conditions
- internal busy to 1*7788
- external busy to 1*7788
- internal no ans to 1*7788
- external no ans to 1*7788

Forward 1*7788 to 2*7788 on 4 conditions
- internal busy to 2*7788
- external busy to 2*7788
- internal no ans to 2*7788
- external no ans to 2*7788

Forward 2*7788 to voicemail on 4 conditions
- internal busy to voicemail
- external busy to voicemail
- internal no ans to voicemail
- external no ans to voicemail

That should do it.

Make sure your forward hops setting is set to at least 5 or maybe even 6.

Only 3 hops required but more can't hurt
