Theoretical question. Lets say you have 10 servers and 4 switches (24 port switches or something like that). All switches can be connected through cross-over cat5 cables only.
What would be the best way of setting them up for the best performance (strictly from a wireing point of view).
all 10 servers on one switch, then cross-over cables to the other 3 switches. Plus a cross over from each switch to the other one
separate the servers per switch to 2 or 3 server clusters?
Lets say the switches have the following names 1, 2, 3 and 4
if all the servers were on #1, then #1 would be connected to 2,3 and 4.
would it help if:
2 was also connected to 3 and 4
also if switch #3 to switch #4
what would be the optimum way of setting these up?
