I'm a university student, and I'm learning ColdFusion to help design a gambling website for my father and his business partner. Right now we don't have our own CF server set up, and we're looking into possible hosts. Currently I am in the process of programming our betting system, and I wanted to use ColdFusion Studio (which I now have) to work on my templates. However, I'm confused about how to view my templates without having an existing CF server. I was under the impression that Studio would allow me to work on my templates and then view them as if I had a CF server on my local machine. Right now I'm thinking that I assumed incorrectly and that I do in fact need a server *somewhere* to which I can connect to and have a datasource all set up. Which is true? Can Studio make it look like a datasource is set up on my local machine? Or do I in fact need to find a CF server? If Studio can simulate one on my PC, how do I set this up? Thanks.

You do need to have web server software running on your development machine. You can user any of them. Personally, I downloaded Personal Web Server free from Microsoft's website, but you can use Apache, or any other web server you want. Calista :-X
