We are planning to move all of our database from MS access to MS SQL server for our asp web pages. Current the ASP pages can not use SQL server as backend database. The connection always failed. Could anybody show me how to configure the SQL server for ASP page access?

Big thanks

more than likely your sqlserver is fine. go to the asp group and ask them how to set up a connection string for sqlserver.

I think some configuration need to be made before allowing internet users to access the database in the server. I means how to give the right to my database on the sql server in order for users to access the data. I checked the connectstring, it works fine for sql server on my local machine, not the database on the server.

Add what user your using in the connection string to the database to give them access. Look up "security-SQL Server, Create Login Wizard" in books online to help in creating a user.
