I have set up a couple of new phones but have noticed that the DID's are not working on these new phones. I checked the settings of the phones with the working DID's and see no difference in the settings. Can anyone tell me what to check or do to get these lines to recieve direct inward dialing? I'm a little new to the system, so I may have missed something.
Thanks

Are you using T-1 or straight DID trunks?

I have a full T1
may change to PRI to get caller ID.

also is there a way to see which lines have which DID assignments o r do I have to go line by line?

Unfortunately you gotta go target line by target line. The following is the full set up of a T-1 so you can check everything. Just remember, when you change to PRI you have to use a route and destination code to make outgoing calls. How to Install a T1:

You must have either a Services Cartridge (slot 1) or a 6-port Combo card (slot 2) in order to provide clocking for the T-1. Only one of these is needed, even if you have two DTI cards.
The DTI card should go into Slot 4 first. If you have a second card it would go into Slot 3.
You must disable the card first, program the card for T1, then re-enable the card.

Have you assigned the DID line number (i.e. line 145) to the DN? If so, the dn should ring when you call the DID. Assuming you have relatively new software, you can check the line programming as follows. Enter system programming and pres NEXT to go to Lines programming. Enter the line number for the DID and press SHOW twice. You'll see "target line". Press NEXT twice and you'll see the received digits for that line. Press NEXT again to be sure that IF busy: is set "To prime". Press NEXT and make sure the prime set is the correct DN. Otherwise, a second call coming in will ring in the wrong place. If you'd like, send me an email (patj@lazertel.com) and I can send you a cheat sheet.
