I have a meridian option 11c with Meridian mail... Currently we have a prompt maintenance ext. set up with the desired auto attendant message... Is there a way to add additional "greeting" prompts... Or do I have to re-record each time I want the greeting changed?

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, but yes you can set up as many greetings as you want. Post some more information and I'll try to help.

VZPRO - I'm not sure if I can clarify correctly... I can do basic administration(adds,moves,some changes) on the Meridian option11c. I am in a bind because the company that programmed the switch is now out of business, but let me try to elaborate... I have a document from when they originally set it up that reads "change menu greetings instructions"

1. Dial Prompt Maintenance: dial ext. 397
2. system responds "prompt maintenance... voice service ID?" enter ID number 330#
3. system responds "password?" enter password 1234#
4. Select choice number 1 (change the greeting prompt)
5. To listen to the existing prompt, press 2
to re-record the prompt:
press 5 - after tone, record new prompt
press# - to end recording
press2 - to review what you just recorded
6. press release (RLS)

Then they state at the bottom, voice menu numbers to remember
Menu ID = 330
Password = 1234
Usage = Main Greeting

So, I can CHANGE the existing prompt (greeting), but am unsure if I can add additional prompts(greetings)... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

You add more menus and greetings and services in the MerMail voice services menus - can you log into your Mermail via console? (It would be the same place you log in to add or change a voice mailbox - often an A/B switch to toggle between Mermail and PBX)

Yes I can, I can do basics on meridian mail, like change password, name fields, etc...

You can only have one greeting per menu service, you
have to go in and re-record it if you want a different greeting.

So the best start would be to map out what you want. Start with customer calls your main line, what do they hear? What do you want them to hear? what choices do you want to give them? You can have choice 1 go to a new menu service that has a bunch of other choices and so on. How difficult it will be depends on how intricate you want to go - but I'll tell ya, it was a PITA the first time I did any changes to my voice menus and I had the guy who originally programmed it standing right here looking over my shoulder.
The second time I about wrecked my main menu. Now I have to learn how to do it in CallPilot and I got nobody but Tek-Tips to help. Which is usually enough. OR I call my vendor (But I try to do everything I can before calling them - boss will need me more if he knows I can avoid him paying the vendor. I'm way cheaper than them. ;-) )

call pilot is very easy compared to mermail.. mermail is easy after the 1st time.. as you noticed. your post is right, build a call tree, excel works for me.. each of the branches can dial an ext, express mail or give 10 more choices.. best way is to keep it simple.. unless your a gov office after about 60 seconds the caller is going to either press 0 or hang up.. i've built menus that were 100 plus options, that one was military and the cg didn't think people would hang up and call a different army.. another thing to consider, the longer each caller listens to the menu, the more channels you will need.. but us vendors love that

Haha - different Army! That was a good way to start the day.

Yeah, I'm finding I really like the Application Builder. It's nice having that graphical representation of what is going where.

Thank you all for your posts, very informative... I think I have enough info to muddle through...
