i have created a 16pg reader spead with auto page number from master pages. i need to move the pages around for before i send it to a printer as a Printer Spead.

1. how do i lay the first page be a spead and not a single page? so it should have ... 1-2, 3-4, 5-6.....

2. do i have to individually number the pages if i move the pages around to Printer Spead? is there a way to do this?

i've looked tutorials but can't find info on how to set it to printer spead...please help.
thank you.

...does your print provider use imposition software? if this is intended for a knock out job on a desktop printer you may find inbooklet se useful, this can be found under the file menu, i refer to CS2 though, not sure if CS has this...

InBooklet was an optional purchase until CS2. You can also find free imposition/booklet scripts on adobe.com in the 'share' section for InDesign.

If you are not printing this yourself, it is best to leave it to the printer to impose.

this is acutally a mass production on offset printer with a vendor. they want the page to be in printer spead.
i can use the InBooklet for inhouse print mock up but will the printer do the same when they rip the files?

...i'll be surprised if your print provider isn't using imposition software, they will unlikely use inbooklet for this as it is limited...

...surprised they want it in printers spreads at all really, all you have is inbooklet se at your end, any other method you try to get pages into printers spreads will be long winded...

Thank you all for your input.
i get to talk to a middle guy sales person who's been doing this printing business for a long time, i assume, and it took me all day trying to figure it out without tearing the file apart. i can rest in peace and send ou the job.... ^^;

...as a rule it is safer and more flexible to supply readers spreads to your print provider...

...by that i mean individual pages, not a spread size document as a readers spread, that is a nightmare scenario...

...you could end up sending them printers spreads and find out they need it in readers spreads because they have to plan it differently for finishing and the like...
