In Outlook 2003, can the default be set so that messages in new folders are not automaticaly set to "Show in groups"?

I have found that it can be set during install using the "Custom Install Wizard", but my Outlook is already installed.

[Cheers]

Yes,

view > current view > customize & select what/how you want it.

Hope this Helps

Thanks rvnguy, but that only changes the current view.

I'm looking for how to set the default so that when a new folder is created, the "Show in groups" arrangement is NOT selected.

[Cheers]

Opps,

View > current view > define views > select 'current view' then modify. Then 'group by' & set to one of the selections...none might work for you

You were close ...

View > Arrange By > Current View > Define Views > Current View Settings/Modify > Other Settings and deselect the Show In Groups option.

Dontcha love how MS makes things easy to find and change!!!! [lol]

Thanks for steering me in the right direction.

[Cheers]

OK got that.....How do I change all the existing folders at once?

I don't think you can. Once a folder is created you have to change it individually.

If on your PC; focus at the folder > inherit permissions will transfer identical permissions to all under it.

Here is the fix:
View > Arrange By > Current View > Define Views > Messages/Modify > Other Settings and deselect the Show In Groups option.

Click OK > OK > Apply View.

This will change the default Messages view (and not just for the current view). It will now apply to any view that is in the Messages default.
