Hi,

I have a black image on a white background, I want to break it apart from the white background to use on a flash intro. I managed to do it once, but I can't remember how I did it.

Does anyone know the steps to do it??

Thanks

Julie

What kind of image is it? Raster or vector?

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

It's still a bitmap imported from the library.

You have tried CTRL+B? I can't remember if you can break it down that far. (but I don't think so)

So you may want to try Modify-->Bitmap-->Trace Bitmap...

Hope it helps.

I'll try the Modify-->Bitmap-->Trace Bitmap tonight. I managed to do it with CTRL+B ... then I'm not sure exactly what I did to split the black image away - not sure whether I turned it into a sysmbol.

Thanks again

Julie

Hi...

I tried Modify-->Bitmap-->Trace Bitmap but that crashed Flash (may have been tooo big). So I just used the old way by set the background as transparent in another package.

I'm new (very new) to Flash, so obviously when I got that to work ... created my first tween which worked fine, then I tried adding the second stage and it all went wrong.

What I wanted was the image to be zoom into the stage so the image started off huge to small. Then I wanted to image to flip slowly backwards and when it flipped forwards again it would morph into a 3D version.

Before you get excited I didn't get far, I tried to add another layer which would flip the small image, when I played the movie it rotated the all of it (meaning it was rotating the image while it was zooming in)... what did I miss ... I just wanted the flip at the end of the zoom sequence??

Thanks

Julie

Add a new sequence after the completion of the zoom effect. (a seperate motion tween)

That's what I did ... finished the first one at frame 50, then added the start key frame for the second one at 51?

Thanks

Julie

And it didn't work? You will probably have to post your file if you can.

Hi ... how do i post my file ??

I tried last night ... and it did the same thing. When I hit F6 for the second tween the image that I used at the beginning of the first tween was displayed (the large image at the beginning of the first motion tween).

Thanks

Julie

p.s. do you know of any tutorials that explain adding a number of sequences to a movie?

You said you have two different layers right? That means you have two seperate instances of the image movieclip on the main timeline right?

The second instance of the clip will not be effected by the motion tweening of the first instance. So if you reduced the size by 50% on instance 1, you will have to do the same thing on instance 2. It will not happen automatically.

I should note that any changes you make inside of the movieclip will effect both instances.

There are many good tutorials at
To post your file you have to have some sort of public web space that you can post it to. Just upload the .fla file just like you would any other web page.

Hope that helps.

Oh I see, so when I finished the first tween at frame 50, and then made a new layer to do the second tween, made frame 51 the key frame it used the first image as its starting point ... never know they may make that an otion of the next release of Flash.

Ok so what's the quickest way to match up the second massive image to the little one at the end of the first tween ... is there an option that is some sort of place holder?!?!

Thanks alot for that (makes sense) ...

Jules

Add a new key frame on frame 51 on the same layer as the previous tween and start from there.
