Does anyone know how to send a report to a file via a shortcut command?
Our users run reports using a desktop shortcut for the reports mdb. The shortcut contains the report name and the /NOPRINT option. This allows the user to click the icon and have the report show up in access without printing.
They would also like to click the icon and have the report go directly to a pdf file.

Very quickly....

Either create VBA code to do the work you want (e.g. bring up the report in print preview, or print it directly to a pdf file.) (Or if you like create macros to do this work.)

Create a macro that will run your code or run your other macro (whichever you created earlier). Then have it shut down MS Access (Quit database or "Application.Quit").

Goto the help files, and read up on starting Access with command line options. You'll see that you can start MS Access...specify a database, use arguements to specify a workgroup file....and even run a macro.

Simply create a short cut that will start access, and run the macro that will run your code (or other macros) and shut down access automatically.

Hope this helps.
