How to Select row in GridView nested in Datalist

OK, I've spent all day thinking I am this close **two fingers close together**

I have a Gridview inside a Datalist. The GridView populates fine, but the Select button does not work. I've searched high and low for a clear example on how to bind the GridView to the DataList, but no luck. I am using VB which does narrow down resources on the web.

All I want to do is send a query string to a new page upon selecting a row in the nested GridView. Any tips or direction?

if you want to redirect from grid view row, why not use a hyperlink column instead of a select button?

what code do you have already? (markup and code behind.)

You are a GENIUS! It took less minutes to try that with success than hours I spent trying to get a nested GridView selection to work.
