Hi,

I am trying to create report to show data between two selected date.

I created two date-prompts on my prompt page.. it asked me to create parameters and I created. and selected the date fields from my model that I want to use in my date filteration.

it did not ask me about > and < things..how do I tell it to reportnet to select data that is greater than first date and less then second date?
I do not see anything in properties?

Hi ravina,

When you are defining your prompt(s) look for the 'Operator' setting in the prompt wizard - this allows you to specify the > or < etc operator for the filter.

However, the easiest way to get this to work is to define a single prompt (and therefore a single filter) using an in_range operator - rather than defining 2 prompts using >= on the first and <= on the second. ReportNet then takes care of issuing the prompts for start and end date from your single prompt.

Hope that helps!

MF.

Thanks mfgf.
I like your reply very much..
in fact, you are absolutely correct and when I define new parameter.. it does let me say < or > etc..

however.. if I try to understand existing date prompt in my old report.. how to look for such settings? I mean I tried to look into parameter settings.. through properties? for example if there is a parameter named param1... where does it tell me it is selecting dates between start and end?

or in other words..once I created parameter...how to go back and modify its setting? I do not seem to find it?

Hi ravina,

When you drop a prompt into your report, Report Studio takes you into the Prompt Wizard, which guides you through setting up both the prompt and the underlying filter. The operator is stored as part of the filter, not as part of the parameter. Therefore you need to find your filter to see how the operator has been defined. I think we went through a list of how you can find your filters in a different thread the other day...

Best regards,

MF.
