Hi!
Is there a way using registry to select the windows classic mode?
TIA
-Bart

What do you mean by classic mode? Not for Start button, or desktop. If you mean have a computer, networks shortcut on the desktop, you can do that. Just drag the icon to the desktop, and it will ask if you want to create a shortcut. If you mean classic view for control panel, yes again, just choose the view by: twistie, and instead of categories, choose either large or small icons. You can turn off Aero, also and choose in personalize to turn off the widgets dock. If you are talking the search bar it is actually a search bar and a run bar.

Hi,
Indeed I want to get rid off Aero but by using th eregistry.

umm, why? just select turn off aero in settings, it will change the registry for you. Right click the desktop, choose personalize, change desktop theme, scroll down to basic themes, and choose windows 7 basic, or windows classic.

company has disabled the personalize options so I want that workaround.

>company has disabled the personalize

They may have good reason to do so, and unfortunately you may be violating your terms of employement if you hack around this. You may want to check first.
