How to search text in images

Hi,

Q.1 Is there a way to search text in an image no matter what the format is via search and replace function or an API ?

If the text is part of an image the only way you can recognise it is with some form of OCR software. Replace can't work as the bits of the image that were covered by the original text will not be there!
