how to search for text in many files and change it?

Hello all,

I know this isn't really the place for this, but hopefully someone will know the answer.
I've inherited a business website from before the days of CSS. There are hundreds of pages, and each page has the business address and phone numbers on it. It's my job to change all of them to the new information.

So, I thought before I write a program to do it, I'd see if there are solutions out there all ready.

Basically I need to search many files in many folders for a block of html text. When I find it, change it to the new information.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can find some ready-made tools (some are freeware!). I guess it would be quite trivial to write your own though. But then again, if someone already did it for you...
