Suppose I have 4 pds's

Company.Employee.jan
Company.Employee.feb
Company.Employee.mar
Company.Employee.apr

I want to know whether a member named XYZ is present in these PDS's. Without going to each of the PDS and searching individually. Is there any uitlity by which we can specify the higher 2 qualifier's and give the name of a member and find it out.

Hi,

using ISPF option 3.14 you can search inside a pds.

You can use the JCL to concatenate the datasets.

If you make a generation data group of it, you can search for example the last 3, also concatenate by using the gdg suffixes like (-3), (-2), etc.

This is not so much of a COBOL question, more a mainframe question, isn't it?

Regards,

Crox
