Hello,

my database is used to maintain a list of products and productgroups between several branches of the same shop.

Every evening, the manager in the main office opens a form "transfer data", and clicks a button to execute some code (what happens is not relevant to my question for the moment).

I was wondering if it is possible to have this "procedure" which is behind the button, executed every evening automatically without user intervention.

If someone has some coding for this, feel free to share.

Regards,

Peter

You can execute Access from a batch file .bat file. When the access program is opened by the bat file there can be code in the AutoExec Macro that detects that the program was opened from the command line. There can be a macro in the autoexec that runs the procedure. The bat file can be made part of the scheduler.

Alternatively you could use a tool like the Handy Access Launcher, which can be used to schedule macro runs, as well as db compaction and repair. Then write a macro to execute your code and use HAL to automatically log into your db and run your macro without you (or your users) having to lift a finger.

The tool is freeware and can be found by searching for HAL at or
Alternatively, to ensure you get the latest version, check out and, again, look for HAL.
