I'd like to schedule an erase job: I'm having trouble fitting all my data onto media.

Or am I doing something wrong? Is there a better method, like forcing an overwrite of existing sessions in the backup job itself?

I'm new to Arcserve, thanks for helping.

Hi,

you can let overwrite the media that the easiest way. In ARCserve 9.0 you can also create under the Jobassistent erase, format and other jobs. Also you can use in a batch or script file the command ca_devmgr -erease. Execute this command from the ARCserve directory and add the needed parameters like scsi id and so on.

Hope this help you.

I'm using ARCserve 2000, I can't see the job assistant. I can run the Backup wizard to schedule jobs but can't include erases on these.

Sorry, am I being thick?

Got it! It's in Modify Job - Properties.

Thanks Paxmortis!
