I have never dealt with Any Lotus Notes Application before and I want to know how to save EMAIL in lotus Notes, for example in Outlook we save *.pst file . What file should be saved in Lotus Notes Release 4.5.2 b. Could anyone help me in this situation. Thanks

For what purpose do you want to save your email - To transfer to another machine? I think the best ways would either to create a local copy of your mailfile or create an archive which saves mail in a seperate database. Let me know. Lamaar75@hotmail.com

This is something we have been trying to do in our company -with no simple solution. We have over 40 employees consulting on many (Hundreds) projects. Everyone has their own mail database which is maintained on the domino server.

Here is what we would like to do.

1) Any user can create a new mail database, make it shared, move it into a project folder (outside domino server) on a network drive.

2) As people receive messages related to a common project - they drag and drop (or forward) the message from their mailbox to the project folder mailbox.

Can do the first item - can't seem to figure out how to do the second option.

Bar01,

I think the best solution for you would be for your people to have a mail-in databases. You could set one up for each Project and give certain people access to that database. They would them be able to drag+drop/forward on any messages. Or, create a discussion database which everyone can access and modify it so it has different views for different projects. I don't know how secure/confidential these projects are. You would have to have a copy on the Server in order for people to email any of the databases as Notes would not be able to recognise that 'A's' newly created database is located on his network drive and this is where to direct mail to. What do you think? Lamaar75@hotmail.com
