Hi guys. could any expert explain to me what sofware and programs i need to run a webserver on MAC os. I want it to support php/asp/jsp/asp.net.Furthermore, is it secure and good to run webserver on mac. Thanks

What kind of Mac? OSX comes with webserving built in. Check the help files to get going.

ASP is a Windows technology that is not available for Mac.

As Jimoblak said,

Apache is built into every release of OS X. ASP and .Net are microsoft-only technologies and are only available on IIS.

If you want to find a really good series of articles on using the web server built into OS X, check out O'Reilly's MacDevCenter at
You can find the webserver articles at
