How to run DOS apps faster in Windows 2k Pro?

I have proprietary software that I am having a performance isuue with. This same software was running at optimal speed when it was running on NT. I upgraded the computer to 2K and now the program takes forever to flip through screens.

I have edited the Config.NT file for the files=100 and that didn't seem to work. The applications response is optimized for applications. And I'm not sure which step to take next.... Andy ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
