Might seem a strange question, but I want to display some lights on a case but do not want to use any other parts except for the case, PSU and lights/fans.

Any idea how I go about this?

On the assumption that you are dealing with an ATX supply, the lights would operate off the 5v keep-alive circuit that is always on with a power cable and the mains switch.
To use the other parts of the supply requires shorting two wires from the bundle going to the Molex connector, wires 14 (do a google search for ATX power connector) and a 0v wire. Turn on wire has been green in all that I've seen.
Verify the pin number, I'm dealing with a degenerating memory.

I'm not sure that you really want to do this without taking some additional precautions. Switching power supplies require some load to regulate, fans and leds don't pull enough curent to be a load.
