I tried to install a program as a service on Windows XP Pro using both SRVANY.EXE (with Instsrvw.ex + srvany.exe) and a program from (Service +) - both fail.

Srvany will not start at all (it starts + stops directly) and the other (Service+) exits while Starting my program as a service...

So - who knows how to do this in Windows XP Pro ?

The SRVANY works for me on NT4 + 2000 - but I need it to run on XP. Is there an update (I did not find it) or another freeware program that DOES work?

Help - thx in advance!

Did you try running it on XP in the compatibility mode of Windows 2000?

It also sounds like the sort of program that would require you to be logged on as an Administrator.
