I wanted to retrieve category information from Livelink 9.7.0.

There is dump facility for this using func=attributes.dump, but it gives only Category and it's attribute name, ID and Type. I wanted to know all the information which we pass when we create category like Required or not, Searchable, Locked etc information for each attribute.

Which table store this information? Can anyone please share the Query for the same?

A Livelink Category object is a version file just like a document. It is a proprietary data structure that livelink uses to make up that info.attributes.dump uses the table cateregion map table in livelink to build searchable attributes for the searching subsystem. If you want to create a category you should use oscript, lapi or websvcs and prescribe those fields you want in OT's prescribed way.attributes.dump is a oscript request handler which executes this query or similar(select * from dtree where subtype=131) and calls the definition file to show you the info.

There are many ways of creating category objects in livelink the simplest would be to XMLEXPORT a ctegory in one livelink and XMLIMPORT in another system, then depending on what you learn you could use that as a template and create categories form scratch.

Last but not least think of a category object as a template objects in livelink.Applying cateories to livelink objects so that they can later be searched holds these values in livelink tables

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

correction the RH attributes.dump does not use the catregionmap but it reads dtree for the subtype=131 and the rest of the stuff works against actual version files as I said
