How to retrieve SharePoint recycle bin files from a SQL backup

Should I rename my database WSS_Content to something like WSS_Content.backup and then restore my backup and name it WSS_Content? Will this let me retrieve the files in the recycle bin and will I be able to put it back to the way it was? Is it more complicated than this? Please help me...
