Here is one that has always bugged me but I have never found a solution to. I have a pivot chart that I have defined a custom format to. I would like this format to be retained no matter what item you select from the various field choices.

The problem is that evertime you change a value in the drop down you lose the format of the chart. It reverts to the default format. Any ideas how to make this stick?? I've tried setting it as a custom chart type but the format still reverts when you manipulate the chart.

You could add the formating to a VB script then get it to run when ever the chart changes.

Try using record macro next time you apply the formatting.

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by

as dhulbert alludes to - there is no wau of preserving the formatting

best you can do is record yourself setting the formatting manually and get the macro to run each time the pivot table is changed

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
