How to restrict LD, yet allow bypass w/ per-user code on KX-TDA100? Verified Code or Walking CoS?

Hello,
I've been able to restrict long distance calls by changing extension's Class Of Service from 5 (Local) to 3 (Long Distance), but I haven't figured out how to allow users to still make LD calls, yet have them be tracked in SMDR reports, by a per user pin.

It seems like Walking Class of Service should support this, but if I set up PINs for each extension, and they dial their pin from their ext or another users, won't that just give them their normal (5 / Local) CoS?

Creating a Verified Code for each user, but not on their extension, seems like it would be a way to set one call to a different CoS than the user normally has, but I don't see where to set the Verified Codes, in the system.

p.s. The original issue I started a thread about has been resolved, but this is one of a few remaining issues, which I'd like to post separately, to hopefully have them read by people who don't want to read the long original thread.

easy way is to stash a 1p on a speed number and set speed dial to bypass toll restriction

Thanks for the reply, but the owner's want people to have to enter codes manually / don't want someone else to be able to walk up to a phone, push a button, then dial out with the other person's code.

Thhey want everyone to dial their own code, regardless of which extension they're using, but only for long distance calls. Ideally, they would only have to dial this code for calls outside of a certain set of area codes.

I have Class of Service 5 set to be able to dial only certain area codes, and COS 3 unrestricted, but I don't see how to set up Verified Codes, or Walking Classes of Service for each user.

It seems that I should be able to set up an alternate extension with a Walking COS of 3, or Verified code with a CoS of 3, for each person, but I don't see where to do either.

The extension list shows physical extensions, which need to stay CoS 5, and I don't see anywhere to create Verified Codes with their own CoS's. Any ideas? Thanks again.

Hi
I hope i have got this right..
In programming go to feature, verification code.
set a verification code, name, password & cos that you want them to use..

From any handset dial *47* Code then password it enables the set cos for that one call.
In you call logger it shows * plus 4 digit verification code.
as long as you have user name and code you can cross match calls..

I hope this is what you need..

yes ...fyi there are some free programs out there that will sort calls by user !!
