Hi all,
I have a sql-server 2000 box with limited drive space. I want to back up to a mapped network drive. In EM, point the backup location to the mapped drive, in a valid folder. I first get the message 'can't verify backup location, do you want to continue anyway?' or something like that. So I say Yes, but then it says device I/O problem. There is no problem with the mapped drive, no permissions issue, it's mapped correctly, it's listed in the backup device without mispellings. How can I get this to back up to a mapped drive?
Thanks,
--Jim

While the drive is mapped in your session, it's not mapped to the SQL Server's session. Back up to the actual network share instead.
