Hi,
We are considering using database mirroring and snapshots for our DR. Here is the scenario - We have a SQL 2005 cluster of which we would mirror 2 databases to our DR site. The thought was to take a snapshot every 24 hours since for now the legacy systems can only recover to that point. My problem is I do not know how to recover the snapshot of the mirror on the mirror. I know you cannot recover it while the database is in recovery so I tried removing mirroring which left the mirror still in recovery and when I tried to complete the recovery that failed. I also tried failing over and then removing the mirroring which also failed. I tried failing over and then recovering the snapshot but, that too failed. What am I missing? I have read that it can be done but, no specifics were supplied.
Thanks
