I need to restore a single folder from tape backups to user's Exchange mailbox.

We use CA's BrightStor ARCServe Backup solution. On backups manager I opened the Restore tab, for source I selected Restore by Tree, opened OurExchServer->Microsoft Exchange Server - Brick Level-> Individual Mailboxes->User's mailbox. I was able to bring up the desried folder by highlighting user's mailbox and selecting version from last Friday from Version history.

After checking the appropriate folder for restoration, I swapped in the tapes from last Friday and waited for the tape robot to become available.

For test purposes I wanted to restore the folder first to a test account (for I have never restored mailbox contents before) and selected the test user's mailbox for restoring destination.

When I try to run this operation, I only get the error message

"Restore operation failed
0 sessions found on media"

There's a little more descriptive message in job log:

E8601
Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=\\SORVI\dbaxchg2, EC=Invalid user ID or password was submitted or Database Server instance may be inaccessible. If user ID is a Windows domain account, please use Domain\Username.)

I'm a little bit confused about the usernames to be used; When I have configured the restore job (without the wizard) I need to enter session user name and password on Machine and DBAgent tabs. I've tried using the domain admin account but it doesn't seem to work, even though the admin account is member of inbuilt Backup Operators group in AD. Any advice there which credentials to use?

Cheers,
Mikko
