I typed something incorrectly for the outgoing mail server name while I invoked my evolution the first time.

Now I want to go back to change it but don't know how. I spent hours in googling but no luck.

Could someone kindly tell me how to go back to the window to reset the outgoing mail server?

Many thanks.

I don't have an Ubuntu machine infront of me at the moment, but I believe it is under edit->preferences->accounts, or something similar. This will give you a pop up with the accounts, which in your case is probably default. You can then select the account you want to modify, or even delete. If you choose to edit it, you can just change whatever you typed incorrectly.

maybe this will help:

Configuring an Ubuntu 11.04 Mail Client (Evolution)

PS: the manual should have been installed on your Ubuntu install...
