Hi all,
I've seen a few questions around asking how to reset the ADMIN password on a DT700 series phone. I have been digging around in the firmware and found a hidden password you can use. I've only tested it on a model ITL-24CG but I presume it will work on anything that shares the same firmware.
The magic password is 12250424112401200428090111090100 and yes it's a long one to type on the phone keypad.
The procedure I used is while the phone is booting, press the Menu button to bring up the login page. Leave the username as ADMIN, and type that very long number in as the password.
I haven't tried to use it to reset the password yet but I presume it will work for that. At the very least it will let you get to the factory reset menu. I first discovered it back in 2014 and it still works as of October 2021 so it should help out with a number of different firmware versions, but I expect NEC will change it once it becomes widely known.
If anyone is interested in the firmware side of things I have posted most of the detail (e.g. how to get a serial console and SSH access) over on the Embedded Linux wiki. Feel free to add to it if you have any other technical details.
