We lost power last week and ever since have not been able to log into our voicemail. We try our password and the default 1234 and still get invalid password? How do I reset back to default 1234 so we can access voicemail and make new password? Thanks!
So how is it that a power failure would cause the voice mail password to change?
That is stored on the hard drive, or flash memory.
Power failures only affect the programming translations on an ACS processor, and that's what the AAA batteries and Backup/Restore card are there for.
Are you having trouble logging into the System Administrator's mailbox, or personal user's mailboxes? If it is PVM card mail, and the mailboxes were changed from their default assignments, AND a factory default was not performed prior to the initial programming, that perhaps could cause you not to be able to log into some user's mailboxes after a power failure.
Please give us something more to go on. As Joe asks, which voice mail are you using? And which password has been lost?
I am experiencing this same issue. The password was the standard 1234 and now it does not work. It is the personal user password (extention password). Can the mailbox be accessed without losing the messages? How do we reset the password? HELP! Thanx
icsrookie - do you know which voice mail you are using?
If it is Partner Voice Messaging PC Card, AND the mailboxes were changed from their default assignments, AND a default was not performed before the initial programming, the extension number you are inputting may not be valid.
Log into the System Administration mailbox, check option 2 to find out the number of mailboxes, the use option 1 to find out which mailboxes are assigned to which extensions. You will also have an option to "initialize a mailbox password", where you can reset the pw to 1234. Note that this operation is asking for the MAILBOX number (1 through 16) NOT the EXTENSION number (10 through 49)
