Hello,..
any body can tell me how to reset the whole partition or folder files permission....?
windows advance option couldn't do that....some files can not accesscible (reset inherited files permission....option)

thanks,

Why are some files inaccessible acung?

As long as there is administrative acess to all the folders/files in the directory structure then resetting the permissions using the 'Reset permissions...and enable propogation..' option should work.

I take it that you are logging-on as Administrator?

If there are no administrative permissions set on folders or files in the directory you will get an access denied message - in this case you would need to take ownership of the folders/files manually which would create an administrative entry in the permissions.

Hope this helps

did this get solved. We have same problem - even as admin we cannot reset read only files and admin has all rights to the drive
