how to reset cisco switch 2924XL to default ?
I create Vlan 2 the status is shutdown, I try with no shut command, but no luck, where did I do wrong ?

I you wont to erase the configuration type this :
write erase
an then reload.
This will erase the configuration.

The vlan2 that you see is only for administrative purpouses, if you do a "no shut" in the vlan 2, this will work. If not try with the command "manage" in the vlan2. This automatically shut down your vlan1. But remember, it's only for administrative purpouses, does't means that yours port en VLANx will down.

regards.

To reset 2924XL to default, if you know the passwords just "wr erase" then reboot.
If you don't know the password , power-up and hold the mode button in. You will then be in boot mode and can remove the config files. del flash:config.text & del flash:vlans.dat

When you create a vlan it will remain in shutdown status until you have an active port in it.(Either a trunk or device)

Cheers

Mark
