I don't know much about this router but it's not longer being used and would like to reset it to the factory defaults so our configuration is no longer on it. I'm connected to it via hyperterminal. What do i need to do?
thanks!

do you have to be in router(config)# for that? because i tried "write erase" and i got %invalid imput detected at '^" marker.

Just privelege mode:

Router#erase startup-config

so i figured this much out i had to type "do write erase" and "do reload"

does this reset the passwords to or do i have to do something different for that?

No!It's back to factory defaults.
