I have one Solaris 8 CDE environment where some of the options are buggy. How can I reset a user's CDE back to the defaults?

Thanks Michael

You can try resetting $HOME/.dtprofile Too bad I.T. is not cash business

what do you mean ??
did you made changes in /usr/dt /etc/dt ?? vox clamantis in deserto.

I think the user messed up the environment bound to their user account. I want to set it back to the default one.

I think it may be a matter of copying a for files but I am not sure which files where they go.

Thanks Michael

Hi Michael,

Just move the .dt directory of this user to .dt.old. When this users logs in again a new .dt directory will be created. From the old directory you can copy the good parts.
You could also copy a good .dt directory from another user to the user. I think you have to change owner/group of the files.

Greetings André
