I've created a db for a customer, based on existing data from a clipper db.

I've changed some fields to autonumber (InvoiceID, reportID,...)
I've created some invoices for testing, but now I want to reset the autonumber field to 1.

How should I do this ?

Regards,

I think Ellie is somewhat right. You may need to delete records then remove (delete) the autonumber field from your table, then compact the database.... then add back the autonumber fields to the table. That should then start the tables out at record #1.

If deleting the records is not an option then create a copy of the table... when Access asks you whether to copy the structure or the structure and data choose only the table structure. Then create an append query from the original table and append all records to the new table.

Ellie,
Thx for your info. I tried it out and worked fine !!

(Another thing to remember in my mind as nice feature...)
