How to rename a linked server

Hi all,

We are using replication and have a linked server set up on the subscriber. The third party software vendor has told us that we need to edit the name of this linked server (their new version requires a certain naming convention that the old version did not need). Is there a way to rename a linked server or do you have to drop and recreate? If you do have to drop and recreate will that cause an issue for replication?

You'll have to drop it re-create it. It won't cause any problems for replication.
