If someone telnet to my server on port 22, they are welcomed by the ssh banner. Where is that config parameter. I looked in ssh_config and could not see one.

Thanks

alternatively, u can firewall off your connections to port 22, to only specific IP addresses.. so that no one else can connect to your SSH port in any way..

good luck

THanks so much. As of now I am firewalling so no one can telnet on my ssh port. Im a freak and figured that removing the banner is just added protection, but according to the article, I will leave it be.

Thanks again
