I did an install of Solaris 10 using "Entire Disribution plus OEM" feature set. This installed StarOffice 7 and I need to remove this software. How can this be done? Can it be done from the command line?

splitting10;

I found this procedure out on the web;

1. Open a terminal window (e.g., right click on the desktop and choose "New terminal").

2. Delete the ".sversionrc" file:

rm $HOME/.sversionrc

3. Change to the StarOffice[TM] installation directory (e.g., "/opt/staroffice7/program/"):

cd $HOME/staroffice7/

4. Start the StarOffice Setup program:

./setup

5. When the program launches, choose the "Remove" option. This will remove the application and configuration files, but not the user-defined files.

6. In order to delete also the user-defined files, please check the "Delete all files" option.

7. Start the uninstallation with clicking on [Next>>] and [Remove].

The StarOffice[TM] configuration files are now removed.

To uninstall the StarOffice[TM] program files, please do the following:

1. Open a terminal window (e.g., right click on the desktop and choose "New terminal").

2. Change to the StarOffice[TM] installation directory (e.g., "/opt/staroffice7/program/"):

cd /opt/staroffice7/program/

3. Start the StarOffice Setup program:

./setup -net

4. When the program launches, choose the "Remove" option. This will remove the application and configuration files, but not the user-defined files.

5. In order to delete also the user-defined files, please check the "Delete all files" option.

6. Start the uninstallation with clicking on [Next>>] and [Remove].

The StarOffice[TM] program files are now removed.

let us know if it works.

Thanks

Do you know what the package(s) is called? If so, have a look at pkgrm to remove them.

It looks like I was able to successfully remove StarOffice 7 by running

# pkgrm SUNWsogm
# pkgrm SUNWsom
