Hi all,

When running "shutdown.exe /s /t 00" from a command prompt, I see this popup message that tells me that " Windows will shut down in less than a minute".

Is there a way to get rid of this message?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
You could try:
shutdown.exe /s /t 00 > NUL

maybe would work - may I ask why you want to get rid of it?

Hi Turkbear,

Your suggestion works just perfect :) Thanks!

As to your question why I'd want this message removed:
I am using 2 custom vbscripts to shut down and restart a notebook, in which SyncToyCMD.exe is called to synchronize a set of folders before shutting down or restarting.
This scripts provides the user with the following pop up messages:

-> Are you sure you want to shutdown/restart? [YES/NO]
-> This computer will now synchronize your folders and shutdown/restart
-> Synchronization succesfull, this computer will now continue to shutdown/restart

And after this a windows popup appeared after the shutdown.exe was called. Annoying to say the least :) But that's just my opinion I guess. I'm happy it's gone now.

Thanks again,

Dennis

Hi,
Glad it worked ( I am never sure which old DOS methods still work in a command window.)
