How to remove/delete users from system

Two of our employees recently quit and we are wondering how to remove them totally from our phone system. How do you stop phone calls from going to their voicemail, from being routed to their extension, etc. We want to remove them completely but not sure how to do this. Thanks for any help on this.
 
remove them from the user and extention lists in Manager. and make sure nobody or group transfer their calls to these numbers. i think that's it.
 
I have deleted them from the user and extension lists. The incoming number is still listed on the Incoming Call Route list. However, the destination is blank. Should we delete them off the incoming call route list as well? A Hunt Group and short code, was set up for both of them too. Should these be deleted also or is that unnecessary? Thanks!
 
Wouldnt worry about Incoming call route. You may need that for a new user. Im a great believer in keeping tabs on stuff removed so I would just renumber the extension he/she had for example if 241 make it 1241 or similar. That way you can keep a tab on whats there. In regards to the extension user again renumber it and rename "User Name" field and this will create new mailbox for a potential new user.
 
I would change the destination on the incoming call route to either your reception phone or main group in order not to miss out if the users ddi was used for incoming business calls.
