When creating a hyperlink in excel, the text that I use in the cell automatically turns blue, get underlined, and is displayed with Arial. In order to remove that, I have to manually highlight the cell, choose Format Cell, check Normal Font, and then change the font to the one I want.

How do I apply these settings to the entire column so that when I create new hyperlinks, the desired formatting occurs? Right now, even though I went through this process with the column, new hyperlinks are still auto formatted to the default.

This is very annoying and I would want to know how I remove this auto formatting of hyperlinks.

Hi,
Hyperlinks seems to always appear blue and underlined. You can change the formatting more quickly using the Format Painter (paintbrush) icon on the toolbar. Format the first hyperlink the way you want it to look. Stay in the cell. Double click the Format Painter. Click and drag over the cells you want to re-format to match the first cell. To disengage the Format Painter, just click on the tool again.

Hope this helps,

Best,

MockY,
In Excel 2k3:
Tools->Options->Spelling->AutoCorrect Options
Click the AutoFormat As You Type tab
Uncheck Replace as you typeInternet and network paths with hyperlinks
This will stop the annoying things as you type. and BlueHorizon's solution will work for ones that already exist.
