Dear all
I want to remove an entry from my DNS server which running on Win2k server, so that when the user ping that host, it will return "no response"?

Thx alot!

Jack

You should be able to highlight the machine in question in DNS, right click on it and select Delete. After you do that, make sure you reconcile the zones so that the forward and reverse lookup zones are in synch.

Dear Scanman
I had deleted the entry from DNS already, and i had check there is no such entry for server a!
Now when i ping the server a from my pc, it still return an ip address!!

How Come!!

Thx alot
Jack

Run ipconfig /flushdns to clear your cache. Check that you don't have a hosts file with it in. Is it fully qualified? Are you sure it is not WINS?
