How to remove Acrobat 2.0 and 2.01 completely ?

I downloaded Acrobat reader 5.0. However, the older AR 2.0 continues to try to open email attachments with no success. I have un-installed the AR 2.0 and looked for any remnants but it continues to haunt my system, overriding the AR 5 download. Help please ?
