Hello,
I created backup jobs that dump the backups from WINNT to a Sun box through a WINNT mapping using Samba. I used the Task Center to schedule the backup jobs using the OS command script type. All the backups ran fine with the exception of one which I forgot to specify the folder name in the net use line (net use X: \\machinename\foldername). The status of this job is in an unknown state. I did not get any messages in the db2diag.log file when the job kicked off. The job is still currently being reported by the Task Center as running, so I can not remove the task. I did run force application in the CLP and that killed the connection to the database. Here are my questions:
Would a restart of the instance of the database being backed up refresh the Task Center list and convert the state of the backup job to not running?
Or would a restart of the instance where the dbadmin tools database resides solve the problem?
What are the implications of an instance restart?
Will I run into a problem with the instance not coming back up?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
q.
