I have a win2k server with exch2k and some 10 domains hosted on the same computer with smtp virtual servers for each domain. The setup as follows;

machine IP : 168.100.100.1 and no external domain pointing to this address, this is the default smtp server in exchange server.

There is another virtual smtp server with IP : 168.100.100.2 assigned to it and it is allowed to relay request from the default smtp server(168.100.100.1) but it does not relay for some reason. It only relays for internal domains.

For example when I telnet 168.100.100.1 ( default smtp) and try to send an email to an yahoo account it says "550 5.7.1 Unable to relay..." but it does send email to the another domain hosted in same server..

Please help!

Thanks

Use SM to setup specific IP addresses which are allowed to relay through the Exchange server.
